At Playland
At Playland we believe that every child deserves a nurturing, inspiring, and safe environment to grow learn and thrive.
Our Nursery aims to provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment, where every child is respected as an individual, and encouraged to explore their world though play, whist being supported in developing the social emotional, and cognitive skills that form the foundation for lifelong learning,
We are very proud of the wonderful team who excel in enhancing our environment and create the great setting for every child that attends Playland.
We follow the Curiosity Approach that is a modern child led philosophy, designed to spark wonder, creativity and independent thinking in pre-school children. Its approach encourages children to become ‘thinker and doers’ and the freedom to explore and to problem solve, and make choices of their own.
This approach nurtures confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Here’s what it typically looks like in practice:
A Natural, calming environments: rooms are filled with neutral tones and natural materials like wood, fabric, and recycled objects—steering away from bright plastic toys.

Our Setting
Our rooms have continuous access to our safe and interesting outdoor area. There is cover and shade to facilitate all-weather play and it is equipped to reflect our indoor learning environment.
Outdoor play stimulates play experience and contributes to healthy development. We have a special outdoor play area that is hugely important for our young children—it’s not just about burning off energy, it’s a cornerstone of healthy development.
Spending time outside helps children build physical strength and coordination, from running and climbing to balancing and jumping.
But it’s not just muscles that benefit—mental health gets a boost too. Outdoor play reduces stress, improves mood.
It also nurtures social and emotional skills. When children play together outside, they learn to cooperate, negotiate, and resolve conflicts.
Plus, the freedom of open spaces encourages creativity and imaginative play.
In short, outdoor play isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s essential – and we have the space and facilities to provide essential outdoor play.
